A lovely Parsi dish made
with dried apricots in onion-tomato gravy.
Serves 4-5
Ingredients:
500 gms chicken with bones
2 onions, chopped and fried
3 tomatoes chopped
10 jardaloo (dried
apricots) soaked in warm water for about 15-20 mins
1 tsp haldi
1 tsp red chilli powder
2 tsp meat masala
1 tsp garam masala powder
2 tsp ginger garlic paste
2-3 tbsp Worcestershire
sauce
Salt
Oil
Method:
Make a paste of fried onion
and tomatoes.
Heat oil. Add the onion-
tomato paste. Saute for a minute or two.
Now add ginger garlic paste
and saute till raw smell goes away. Add all the dry masalas except garam
masala.
Add apricots and salt and
cook till oil comes on surface and apricots turn mushy.
Now add the chicken and
cook till chicken is done.
Add the Worcestershire
sauce and garam masala powder.
Check for salt.
Simmer for 8-10 mins and
let it stand for about an hour or two.
Serve with crispy sali on
top
