Pepper Chicken

Simple and easy to cook chicken with a twist.

Ingredients:
½ kg chicken
2 medium onions, chopped long
2 medium tomatoes, pureed
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
½ tsp mustard seeds
½ tsp jeera seeds
1 cardamom, crushed
1 bay leaf
1 small piece cinnamon stick
3 cloves
8-10 curry leaves
1 tsp haldi
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
2 tsp freshly ground pepper powder
2 tbsp oil
Salt
Freshly chopped coriander

Method:

Wash the chicken well and drain all the water.

Heat oil in a vessel. Add mustard seeds and jeera seeds and let them splutter.

Add curry leaves to this. Now add the whole garam masala and sauté for about 2 mins.

Add the chopped onion and cook till golden brown. Now add ginger garlic paste and cook well.

Add the masala powders and stir well for about 4-5 mins.

Add the pureed tomatoes and cook well till oil separates from the mixture.

Now add the chicken and salt and mix well.

Cook on medium flame till chicken is tender.

Once done, add the freshly ground pepper powder.

Garnish with finely chopped coriander.

Serve hot with freshly cut raw onion rings along with chapatti or naan.
