A traditional Parsi way to eat chicken in a simple manner
with rice.
Serves 4-5
Ingredients
500 gms chicken
2-3 medium onions chopped
2-3 medium tomatoes, chopped to small pieces
2-3 potatoes, cut into thin long slices
1 cup green peas.
2 tsp haldi
2 tsp red chilli powder
2 tsp dhana jeeru powder
2 tbsp curry powder
1 ½ tsp garam masala powder
2-3 green chillies, roughly chopped

Oil
Method:
Heat oil in a pressure pan and fry onion till golden brown.
Add the finely chopped tomatoes and green chillies to this
and cook till tomato becomes soft.
Add ginger garlic paste and red chilli paste and mix well
Now add potato and peas and mix well.
Add haldi, red chilli powder, dhana jeeru, curry powder and
garam masala powder and mix well.
Add the chicken to this and mix well. Simmer on slow flame
with covered lid for about 5 mins.
Add salt and water to make gravy like consistency.
Shut the pan and let it cook for 1 whistle. After 1 whistle
lower the flame for 10 mins and then switch off the gas.
While serving garnish with finely chopped coriander.
Serve hot with white rice.
