I have always heard of nilgiri chicken, but never got a
chance to make it. So this time when I was thinking of making chicken in a
different style, I decided to try this out. Very delicious and easy to make, do
try it out.
Ingredients:
500 gms chicken, cut and washed
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 bunch spinach
20-25 leaves of mint
10-12 curry leaves
1 tsp saunf
½ bunch coriander leaves
2 medium onions, finely chopped
1 tsp haldi
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
4 tbsp curd
2 tbsp oil
Salt
Water as required
Method:
Marinate chicken with ginger garlic paste and keep for about
6-7 hours or preferably overnight.
Wash the spinach leaves and blanch in a vessel. Let it cool.
Now make a paste of this blanched spinach, mint and
coriander leaves and keep aside.
Fry the onion till golden brown.
Add haldi, coriander powder and garam masala and stir well.
Add the marinated chicken and salt and cook for about 10
mins.
Now add the spinach paste and stir well. Let it cook
completely with the chicken. Make sure not to overcook the
chicken as we are
yet to add curd to it.
Add the curd and mix well. Let it cook for another 5-10 mins
or till chicken is nice and tender.
Check for salt.
Remove from fire and serve with chapatti or naan.
