Murg Noorjahani

Made this delicious chicken in a spur of the moment. Also its made in a slightly different way.

Serves 4-5 people

Ingredients:

For Chicken marination:
Chicken – 500 gms, washed and slit
Haldi – 1 tsp
Red chili powder – 2 tsp
Dhana powder – 2 tsp
Pizza seasoning – 2 tsp
Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
Pepper powder – 1tsp
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Salt – to taste

For Gravy:
Onion – 2 medium, fried
Tomato – 3 medium
Haldi – 1 tsp
Red chili powder – 2 tsp
Dhana powder – 2 tsp
Kasuri methi – 1 tsp
Curd – 2-3 tbsp
Cashews – 8-10
Almonds – 8-10
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Butter - 1 tbsp
Oil – 1 tbsp
Salt – to taste
Chopped coriander

Method:
Marinate chicken with ingredients mentioned under marination.

Keep overnight or 2 hours.

Bake at 180 C for 15- 20 mins. Turn every 10 mins to check if it’s done.

Grind the fried onion and tomato to a fine paste

In a vessel, heat butter and oil. Add red chilli powder and mix well. Add the onion-tomato mixture.

Add salt and cook till raw smell of tomato goes away.

Add haldi, garam masala, kasuri methi, dhana powder. 

Grind curd with cashews and almonds.

Add this to the onion- tomato mixture and cook well for about 10- 15 mins.

Add little water every few minutes if you feel that the mixture is sticking to the vessel.

Add the baked chicken.

Garnish with chopped coriander. Cover and let it simmer for 5-10 mins.


Serve hot with chapatti or naan.
