Here’s another simple and delicious dish for all the “gobi
haters” out there. Do try and let me know your views.
Serves 4-5 people
Ingredients:
For marination:
1 medium sized cauliflower, washed and cut into pieces
of desirable size.
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp red chilli powder
2 tsp crushed black pepper
Salt.
For Batter:
2 tbsp cornflour
1 tbsp rice flour
2 tbsp all purpose flour (maida)
Finely chopped coriander, according to your taste.
Salt
Oil to fry
For Gravy:
2 medium sized onion, diced
2 medium sized capsicum, diced
2-3 spring onions
8-10 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1.5 inch ginger piece, finely chopped
3 tbsp soya sauce
2 tbsp red chilli sauce
1 tbsp tomato ketup
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tbsp sugar
½ cup water
1 tbsp cornflour
Salt
Method:
Wash and marinate the cauliflower with the ingredients
mentioned above.
Keep the marinated cauliflower for about 2 hours.
Now make the batter with all the ingredients mentioned
above.
Heat oil in a non stick pan and fry the cauliflower till
it turns crispy and brown.
Remove from pan and let it cool.
In another vessel, heat oil.
Add the chopped garlic and ginger and stir till it turns
brown.
Now add the diced onions and cook till they turn
completely translucent.
Now add the capsicum and spring onion and cook till they
turn crisp.
Add the sauces. vinegar and salt. Add cornflour to the water
and stir well.
Now add this water to the gravy and cook well till it
thickens.
Check for salt. Now add the cauliflower to this and
simmer for about 5-10 mins.
Serve hot with fried rice or noodles.
