Dal Palak

A simple easy to cook dish for everyday cooking.

Serves 4-5

Ingredients
250 gms moong dal. You can use any dal such as masoor, toor etc but it tastes best with moong dal.
1 bunch palak, washed and cut into thin slices
1 medium onion, chopped
4-5 cloves garlic
1 tsp jeera
1 tsp haldi
Salt
2 tbsp oil

Method

Soak the moong dal for about 1-2 hours. Add salt and haldi and cook in pressure cooker.

In a vessel, add jeera seeds. Let is splutter. Add chopped garlic and let it turn brown. Add the chopped onion and cook till golden brown. Add the chopped palak leaves and cook till they shrivel up.

Now add the boiled moong dal to this and mix well. Let it simmer for about 10-5 mins.

Check for salt.


Serve hot with melted ghee on top.
